Hi, I'm Daniel!Â
I’m Daniel Coney, also known as D. Coney: the Airbrush Prince. I’m an artist from metro Detroit, and I’ve spent nearly 24 years mastering the airbrush. I started in the early 2000s, sharpening my skills through what I call “guerrilla style” techniques, hands-on, pick-up-and-go methods that were far from traditional, meticulous instruction. Under the mentorship of master airbrush artists, I developed a bold and unconventional approach to my craft.
Over the years, I’ve brought hundreds of projects to life, including comic art, murals, commissioned canvas paintings for homes and gifts, apparel, and more. Along the way, I’ve had the opportunity to meet and collaborate with childhood heroes, celebrities, musicians, and many incredible creatives.
Now, for the first time, the Airbrush Prince Academy is finally here. For years, people asked me to teach, but I never saw myself as a teacher until now. This is my moment to give back, share my skills, and ignite the creative fire in the next generation.

MODULE 3&4
Paint Theory & Lettering

MODULE 5&6
Cartoons & Surface Applications
These modules focus on creating cartoons and applying art to various surfaces. You'll learn to use projectors, stencils, and masking techniques for character design, including hair, fur, and shading. Then master techniques for fabric, denim, hard surfaces, and scenic elements like skies and water for professional results.
MODULE 7
Creative Projects & Wrap-Up
This final module brings all skills together in complete projects. You'll create finished designs, such as t-shirts and scenic art, applying effects, borders, and professional finishing touches. Includes project reviews, progression guidance, and a bonus portrait teaser to complete your airbrush journey.
